Manufacturing

SDCI offers five courses relating to manufacturing. TMJ 2O, which is the grade 10 class, TMJ 3M, TMJ 3E, which are the grade 11 classes, and TMJ 4C, TMJ 4E, which are the grade 12 classes. These classes introduce students to the manufacturing industry by giving them an opportunity to design and fabricate products while learning all about the manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment. As you progress through the different levels of each course students will take what they've learned in previous classes to expand their skills and knowledge.

The manufacturing courses at SDCI are hands-on project-based courses that are designed for students who are interesting in learning about and who are planning to enter an occupation or apprenticeship in manufacturing after graduation. Students will learn about technical drawing, properties and preparation of materials, and manufacturing techniques. Some of the equipment that students will learn how to use include engine lathes, milling machines, and welding machines. Students may also have the opportunity to obtain industry-standard training and certification.
