Founding Team and History
The idea to launch a new show was pitched to Whitney Keunen by Ryan Robinson who was a then producer for Rogers TV in June of 2017 after she had hosted Inside Strathroy (Tractor Day edition) and worked with Mr. Robinson. Their first meeting was held on June 26th, 2017 with representatives from Rogers TV and SDCI. During this meeting the show name, topic and schedule were decided upon. The student team members were selected by Whitney Keunen and Mr. Myette based on their participation in Communications Technology classes, passion for media, demonstrated camera skill and compatibility with other members.

Whitney Keunen
Founder, Producer, Host
Showcase SDCI was established by Whitney. Whitney was an active volunteer at Rogers TV and parlayed this connection into Showcase SDCI. She is currently attending Ryerson University's Media Production program.
Kyle Cushman
Host
Kyle's involvement, hosting Showcase SDCI, gave him the practical experience to produce a weekly sports segment on Saints TV. This allowed him to pursue his love of sports at Ryerson University in their Sport Media program.
Roaine Coy-Pinnock
Host
Roaine discovered her passion for being on camera through her involvement with Showcase SDCI and Saints TV. The experiences she had throughout high school fueled her desire to attend the University of Ottawa for their Political Science and Public Administration in French Immersion.
Janice Robinson
Director
As a former Producer of Saints TV, at SDCI, Janice got involved assisting with Showcase SDCI. Janice was later named the shows Director. She is currently attending Fanshawe College's Television and Film Production program.
Maysee McLean
Host, future Producer
Maysee has always had a love for being on camera and being involved with Saints TV since grade 11. She jumped at the chance to be one of the two grade 11s on the Showcase team in our first season. She later became the producer of season 2. She is currently studying at Ryerson in the Media Production program.
Mitchell Van De Hoef
Host
Mitch's extroverted personality, has allowed him to make a large number of connections, throughout his time hosting Showcase SDCI. He gained knowledge in the broadcast and film realm, which helped him to decide on post-secondary studies and he is currently attending Niagra Collage in the Radio, Television and Film program.
Carson Wakeam
Tech Director
Carson has been involved with the AV club here at SDCI for all four years of his high school career. This helped him get involved first with Saints TV as the shows Technical Director and then moving up to working with Showcase SDCI. He is currently attending Fandshaw collage in the Computer Systems technolgy program.
Calum McLean
Host
With Calum's passion for music, he jumped at the opportunity to interview local Indie band, Texas Kings, on Showcase SDCI. Calum is currently attending Ryerson University's Media Production program.
