Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
Welcome to the beginning of the 2026–2027 school year!
Some of you I have already had the pleasure of meeting, and I look forward to meeting all of you soon. This will be my 11th year at Masonville, and I absolutely love the enthusiasm for learning and positive growth mindset that are such an important part of the Mustang culture!
Prior to joining Masonville, I taught at Weldon Park Academy for two years, Sherwood Forest for twelve years, and Orchard Park for three years. I attended Wilfrid Laurier University and Western University, where I studied Physical Education, Psychology, and Education. I have taught Grade 6 for the majority of my teaching career.
Assignments and upcoming events will be posted in our Google Classroom. This website will also provide some background information about our classroom, along with a list of resources that I hope you will find helpful throughout the year.
My personal philosophy as a teacher is to strive, to the best of my ability, to be kind, supportive, and enthusiastic. I believe that when parents/guardians, teachers, and students work together toward shared goals, incredible things can be achieved! I strive to be approachable and welcome any feedback, questions, or ideas you may wish to share.
On a personal level, when I’m not focused on teaching-related activities, I enjoy staying active, working on various “projects” around the house, and reading. Most importantly, I have an amazing family that I am very grateful to spend my life with.
I’m looking forward to another fantastic year at Masonville! :)
Mr. Reed
