Community Engagement

· Breast cancer comprises around a third of all female cancers and remains the number one cause of cancer-related mortality in the UAE. 

· Coordinated efforts by healthcare providers and the community are needed to increase awareness, encourage at-risk individuals to go for cancer screenings and support the availability of diagnostic tools and treatment. 

·  As part of the healthcare team, pharmacists are responsible for increasing the accessibility of key information about breast cancer to the general public. 

• Students can improve communication skills by interacting with the community members

• Students can help promote the health of the community

• Students can improve their teamwork skills and foster inter-professional collaboration by engaging with their peers from different colleges under GMU.
