World No Tobacco Day TUH Community Event

Introduction:
World Health Organization's recent survey on smoking in the UAE region suggests that 14.3% of young males, 24% of adult males, 2.9% of young females and 1% of adult females are currently smokers.
As part of the healthcare team, pharmacists are responsible for educating community members on the negative effects of smoking on health as well as support those who are trying to quit.
Benefits of the Community Engagement Activity:
Students can improve communication skills, cultural sensitivity and emotional intelligence by interacting with community members.
Students can promote the health of the community.
The activity can raise raise awareness among patients at TUH about the adverse health effects of tobacco use, promote a smoke-free environment, and provide support for those looking to quit tobacco
