Our Season 1 athletics campaign continued in full swing this past week, with our Varsity and U15 teams proudly representing Global Jaya on the soccer field, basketball court, and volleyball court.
At home, our Varsity Soccer boys opened the day against Jakarta Intercultural School (JIS). The team came out with high intensity and quickly took control, securing a commanding 3–0 lead by halftime. In the second half, they managed the game well and sealed an impressive 4–2 victory.
Following the boys, our Varsity Soccer girls took the field against JIS. Despite a disciplined and solid performance, the girls fell short 3–1 in a match decided by small details.
Meanwhile, our U15 Basketball teams traveled to SPH-KV. The girls held their own in the first half, trailing by only a single point (6–5), but the second half proved challenging, ending in a 26–5 defeat. The boys delivered a strong and competitive performance, battling hard before falling 39–28. Their fight and progress show clear development and promise for the season ahead.
Back at home, our Varsity Soccer girls faced SPH-LV. Once again, they displayed consistent teamwork and effort, but against a very strong opponent, the game ended in a 5–0 loss. The boys then took on SPH-LV and, after a difficult start that saw them down 3–0 within the first ten minutes, they showed resilience and determination to come back. With the tying goal scored in the final minute, the match ended in an exciting 3–3 draw.
On the same day, our Varsity Volleyball teams hosted Santa Laurensia. The girls showcased their strength with a confident 2–0 victory, while the boys edged out their opponents in a thrilling 2–1 win, bringing them one step closer to securing a place in the final four.
Our U15 Boys Basketball team returned to action at Global Jaya against Santa Laurensia. Facing a talented opponent, the boys battled with intensity and heart, ultimately falling 30–14. With more consistent finishing, the results could have been very different, and their growth as a team continues to show.
The decisive part of the season is now approaching. This Saturday, September 27, our Varsity Volleyball and Soccer teams (boys and girls) will face British School Jakarta here at Global Jaya, starting at 8:00 am. We encourage everyone to come out and support our Hawks! On the same day, our U15 Boys Basketball team will travel to BSJ, still in contention for a finals spot with a win.
The action continues Tuesday, September 30, with our Varsity Boys Soccer team playing Santa Laurensia at Global Jaya (kickoff 3:15 pm). On the same day, our Varsity Girls Soccer team will play away at Santa Laurensia, while our U15 Girls and Boys Basketball teams compete at SPH-LV.
The week concludes on Thursday, October 2, with our Varsity Volleyball boys and girls traveling to JIS for another big challenge.
Let's keep the momentum going, come support our athletes, bring your Hawks spirit, and cheer them on to victory.
