Dear Global Jaya Community,
As we finish the month of September, our school has much to celebrate. The steady hum of activity, with cheerful students, innovative projects and initiatives, great student-led assemblies, and many extra-curricular and after-school activities taking place from Monday to Saturday symbolizes the sense of effort and dedication typical of Global Jaya community members. In effect, it is a concerted effort to live our Mission and Vision and to develop in our students the Schoolwide Learner Outcomes of being inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective. When these components come together, the result is a student who embodies the best of Global Jaya.
To help you prepare for the upcoming month of October, several important events and activities are highlighted below.
Week Without Walls has been rescheduled to October 6-10. During this week, students in Years 7 to 11 will travel to various parts of Indonesia, using this time to bond with each other as a year group, taking part in Inter Disciplinary Units, and volunteering through Service as Action and CAS experiences. Year 12 students follow a regular schedule at school during the week of October 6-10.
We hope everyone has a chance to relax and enjoy time away from school during the first term break, which takes place from October 13-17. And since we had to adjust the timing of our WWW trips, please remember that MSCs take place on October 20-21. MSCs are an important opportunity for parents to learn about the progress their children have made so far this year and to help their students plan for continued success.
As always, I am grateful to the Global Jaya community and the support we receive each and every day from our parents and students.
Take care,
Dr. Howard Menand
Head of School
