As part of our unit on the communication system, Year 2 students had the opportunity to engage with members of our school security team, Pak Husni and Pak Kevin, who joined as guest speakers. They shared valuable insights into how effective communication is essential in their daily responsibilities, particularly through the use of the handy talkie. During the session, students learned about the device’s function, purpose, and importance in maintaining safety and coordination within the school environment.
Under the guidance of Pak Husni and Pak Kevin, students also had the chance to use the hand-talkies themselves to communicate with their classmates. They were excited and enthusiastic as they practiced sending and receiving messages, learning to speak clearly, listen attentively, and respond appropriately. The experience allowed students to understand how communication supports teamwork and ensures smooth operations within a community.
This hands-on session provided a fun, meaningful, and memorable learning experience for the students. It strengthened their understanding of how communication systems work in real life and helped them make connections between classroom inquiry and everyday applications within the school setting.
