On February 14, Global Jaya was filled with laughter, smiles, and heartfelt sincerity as the Student Council hosted a memorable Valentine’s Day celebration for Secondary Students. From surprise bouquets to creative dress-ups, the day was a beautiful way to celebrate our tight-knit community!
The star of the show was definitely the Chocolate, Cards & Roses Delivery, where students got to brighten their friends’ days with personalized Valentine’s packages. With a sweet treat, a funny card, or their own heartfelt message, these small tokens of appreciation served as a reminder (and sometimes a surprise confession) of the connections our students share.
If students wanted to show their appreciation from afar, the Confession Box was a clear favorite. Many heartfelt moments were shared as students had the opportunity to share anonymous messages, resulting in both tears of sincerity and laughter. These messages were later revealed through the Student Council’s Instagram stories, which were open for everyone to see.
On campus, there was also the Wall of Love, where students and faculty left notes of love and appreciation on colorful heart-shaped post-its. Unlike Instagram Stories, these messages aren’t going away and are now displayed on the Student Council bulletin near Plaza B. Those passing by can take a moment to be reminded of the kindness and support proudly and publicly shared by members of the Global Jaya community.
Of course, Valentine’s Day wouldn’t be complete without its iconic Dress-Up Day, so while all of this was happening, our students also got the chance to leave their uniforms at home and dress up as their “type” or in Valentine-themed colors. Whether students went all out with outfits displaying their ideal match or kept it classic with pink, white, and red, the event was made all the more memorable by having our campus filled with a little extra color.
Through these initiatives, the Student Council brought a much-needed opportunity for our community to forget their obligations for a little while and remember the people who made them look forward to going to school every day. Contrary to what some may believe, Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romance; it’s about friendship, gratitude, and appreciation for the ones we love most. A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the celebration, the day definitely shone with our community’s interconnection and the love we share!
