Hello Everyone!
In our recent Unit of Inquiry (UOI), How the World Works, we set off on an exciting adventure to explore the different states of matter. Through fun and hands-on experiments, engaging activities, and thought-provoking discussions, we discovered how matter changes and interacts in our world. This unit was filled with curiosity, excitement, and plenty of "wow" moments! Here’s a peek into our incredible learning journey.
We kicked off our unit with an exciting provocation led by Ibu Lashin. Through a fascinating hands-on activity, we explored how liquid milk transform into a solid and discovered how the properties of matter can change. Watching this transformation happen right before our eyes was truly amazing—but the best part? We even got to taste the final result!
To help students witness changes in matter firsthand, the teachers organized three engaging experiment stations. The first station demonstrated how solid chocolate melts into liquid, the second station showed how liquid water transforms into steam, and the third station allowed students to make ice pops, illustrating the shift from liquid to solid. Through these hands-on activities, students gained a deeper understanding of how matter changes state and the factors that influence these transformations.
This hands-on exploration of matter was an exciting and meaningful learning experience for our students. By observing these changes firsthand, they developed a deeper curiosity about the world around them. We look forward to more discoveries as we continue our journey of scientific exploration!
