Dear Secondary Community,
It’s hard to believe we’ve already reached the end of Term 3! All parents have received their child’s progress report, engaged in meaningful conversations about their self-reflection, and attended the MSCs to discuss their strengths and areas for growth. Your presence and involvement play a crucial role in their learning journey, and we truly appreciate your support in helping them finish the academic year strong. If you feel a follow-up meeting with a teacher is needed after the MSC, please reach out to our Secondary School secretaries at adminassistants@globaljaya.com to arrange a time after the break.
This week has been filled with incredible achievements from our students. Our MUN delegation made us proud in Singapore. In the words of our MUN Coordinator, Ibu Rose: 'Global Jaya School had a fantastic time, with most students actively engaging in the various committees. At the end of the conference, two students—Advik Parashar, representing Australia, and Olivia Athya Rachmat, representing the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea—received Honorable Mention Certificates. Honorable Mention is an award given to a delegate who demonstrates a high level of engagement, collaborates extensively with other delegates in writing resolutions, actively votes for and against resolutions, and participates in discussions and amendments. We are incredibly proud of these two delegates for their resilience, dedication, and presence at the conference.'
On Monday, we attended the breathtaking DP Arts Exhibition, where our young artists showcased nearly two years of deep research and self-discovery through their inspiring works. Wednesday brought more creativity and talent to the spotlight with the DP Music Recital and Film Screening, reminding us of the power of perseverance and commitment in pursuing our passions.
Another special moment this week was the recognition of some of our Year 10 students for their impressive engagement during Minister Pak Maman Abdurrahman’s visit to GJS. He was so impressed by their insightful responses that the Ministry sent prizes as a token of appreciation, which were awarded on Monday. Congratulations to all recipients!
Looking ahead, after the break, we will kick off the highly anticipated Festival of Hope. After months of meticulous planning, we are excited to bring this IB-recognized festival to Indonesia for the first time! This event will provide students with a platform to engage in meaningful discussions, collaborate on global issues, and develop leadership skills through hands-on experiences. We can't wait to share the highlights with you.
Finally, to our Year 12 students, we encourage you to find a balance between rest and focused preparation as you enter the final stretch before exams. Wishing all our families a restful and joyful mid-semester break—stay safe and take time to connect with your loved ones!
