This February, the library was filled with love and literary excitement as students and teachers participated in two weeks of bookish fun. With engaging activities centered around Valentine’s Day and Library Lover’s Month, the event successfully encouraged a deeper appreciation for reading and the library community.
Valentine’s Day Celebration (Feb. 10-14)
The week leading up to Valentine’s Day was all about discovering new books in a fun and mysterious way! The "Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover" activity challenged students to pick a wrapped mystery book and take a chance on an unfamiliar story. Participants read their chosen book, wrote thoughtful reviews, and had the opportunity to win exciting prizes. The enthusiasm from students was incredible, with many enjoying the surprise element and even discovering new favorite genres along the way! Due to the high demand, we had to add extra-wrapped mystery books to keep up with their eagerness to participate.
Library Lover’s Month (Feb. 17-28)
Continuing the celebrations, the second half of the month focused on appreciating the library and its role in the school community. Students and teachers were invited to express their love for the library by writing heartfelt notes to the library or librarians. A special collection box was placed in the library, and the thoughtful messages received highlighted the library's importance as a space for learning, exploration, and connection.
Students and teachers participated in these activities during library borrowing time, breaks, and lunch, making the most of every opportunity to engage with books and express appreciation.
A big thank you to everyone who took part in these events! Your enthusiasm and love for reading made this celebration truly special. We look forward to bringing you more exciting library events in the future!
