Celebrating Kartini Day- Students examined the vital role Ibu Kartini has had in promoting gender equality in Indonesia. Students learned about her history and why she is still remembered so fondly now. Thanks to her courage, female students are free to go to school. Students were allowed to reflect on what they learned by creatively coloring Ibu Kartini's image. Students were empowered to express themselves through their admiration for this historically important Indonesian women. Her legacy will never be forgotten!
Sports Day- Year 3 got the opportunity to participate in a whole school primary sports day. This was the first time that the entire student body would be allowed to share in the fun together. Enthusiasm could be seen across all the years in primary. Thanks to Pak Tim there were fun sport activities, but also hygiene protocols set in place that ensured everyone was safe. It was a great time!
How We Express Ourselves- In our final unit of the year students were encouraged to express themselves creatively. Students learned about some of the greatest artist’s in history. They learned about the works of Vincent van, Gogh, Georgia O'keeffe, Edvard Munch and Leonardo da Vinci. Students were then able to create their own version of their most famous art pieces. Year 3 students demonstrated their enthusiasm for the artistic process.
