Dear Community Members,
Congratulations to the GJS Class of 2022! On Tuesday, we held our GJS Year 12 Graduation Ceremony (available for viewing HERE) to recognise and celebrate the 75 graduating Year 12 students who made up our diverse Class of 2022. Please know we are so very proud of every one of you and wish you good health, much happiness, and unlimited success in your future endeavours, be it in new cities in countries around the world, or right here in Indonesia.
Our Year 6 Students, the GJS Class of 2028, have also celebrated their Graduation Ceremony and have earned their passage into Secondary School as our incoming Year 7 students of the 2022-2023 school year. We looking forward to their ongoing contributions to our school community, albeit now as Secondary Students. Community members can view our Year 6 Graduation Ceremony HERE.
Prior to our Graduation Ceremonies and Awards Celebrations this week, our wonderful Parents Association hosted TSAN 2022 (Teacher and Staff Appreciation Night) on Friday, June 3. It was simply an amazing effort, the transformation of the theatre foyer, the varied and so delicious food items provided, the multi-region scarfs, boomerang photo sessions and thoughtful gift bags, capped off with a series of performances by students, parents and faculty, made for a most memorable evening. To Ibu Adhsity, our PA Chair, Ibu Bungga, our TSAN Planning Committee Chair, and EVERY parent who dedicated their time, energy, effort and support, we are so very thankful and appreciative of what you have done for us. On behalf of all Global Jaya School faculty and staff, THANK YOU to all the Moms and Dads who, directly or indirectly, contributed to this very special evening. For more details on the TSAN 2022 evening, please check out the Parents Association page of this Kontak.
If you missed any other of our online celebrations, please check out the Events page of this Kontak for links to our videos. If you wish to see all recent and past GJS video publications, please visit our Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/c/GlobalJayaSchoolOfficial/videos
It is also the time of year when we also say farewell to some of our GJS faculty and staff who will be departing our community at the conclusion of this year. Please see below our list of departing faculty and staff, all of whom have diligently and professionally served both the students and the wider GJS community during their tenures. We wish all our departing faculty and staff best wishes moving forward! (Please scroll through all 6 slides below)
With members of our community, faculty, staff, and students, as well as some parents whose last child has now graduated from GJS, saying goodbye to each other today, the last days of school brings with it a mix of joy and sadness, laughter as well as tears. For all our students and their families, and our departing faculty and staff that will be embarking on new adventures away from the GJS Community, we wish you all farewell.
Thank you to all departing families, students, faculty, and staff for helping GJS retain our strong sense of family and community. We wish that you all take with you fond memories, lasting bonds, and friendships, as well as great learning from your time as a member of our community. Please remember, 'Once a member of the GJS family, always a member of the GJS Family!'
As of today, June 10, all of our new faculty are expected to be here on campus for induction on July 18 and all returning faculty and staff on July 25. All new and returning Primary and Secondary students will begin the school year on August 1. To assist with your long-range planning, please find our GJS Academic Calendar for the 2022-2023 school year HERE (as well as viewable below)
Please note that we will only send out updates via ManageBac this summer if and when needed. Otherwise, please expect that our next edition of the Kontak newsletter will be sent out on July 22, 2022.
On behalf of the Leadership team, all the staff and faculty of GJS, please stay safe, stay healthy, stay well and have a most pleasant summer holiday!
Warm regards,
Cory Carson
