Student Agency

Throughout the year our students have been developing their agency through the use of "Choice Boards". For each unit of inquiry, teachers facilitate activities that provide a variety of ways to develop as learners through the use of writing, drawing, creating, making, showing, and speaking. Through making choices from available options on the "Choice Board", the students were able to self-identify how they wanted to demonstrate their learning. Taking this approach provides students with ownership, another way of saying agency, of their learning.
