Global Jaya is truly the embodiment of community, and this sense of community serves as the strength of the school for our students, faculty, and parents. And as we finish semester one, our community continues to be inviting, inclusive, engaging, and energized. For proof of this point, just reflect on the past ten days of HawksCup 2023, where students from different schools were welcomed into our community to participate in sports and events. More importantly, this experience was almost entirely student led, organized, and managed. Truly, our students embody the sense of community we strive to instill in all individuals who are part of the Global Jaya family.
And by the time Kontak is published, we will have recognized our amazing secondary students at the Global Awards ceremony, enjoyed the Holiday Bazaar, and hopefully taken a moment to breathe with the start of the upcoming semester break. As families prepare for this break, I have two requests.
One, please take time to rest and rejuvenate during the next three weeks, and connect with each other as a family. Semester two will be here before you know it, and it too will be a busy time for everyone. My second request focuses on the semester one reports, which are released on December 15. Please take time to engage in positive, proactive family conversations regarding semester one grades–celebrating successes and looking for ways to improve with grades that did not meet expectations. It’s important that students and parents collaborate with each other to achieve success.
Finally, a big thank you to everyone who has supported the school. Our success as a community results from everyone’s contribution, big and small, to our school. Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate and happy holiday to all. If you are traveling, I wish you a safe journey and an equally safe return. I look forward to seeing our students back on campus on January 8, 2024. Until then, may your days be merry and your hearts be full.
