Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) is designed for students to explore their interests, develop new interests, and develop the attributes of the IB Learner Profile in real-world contexts through individual experiences and collaborative projects. When given proper attention and time, CAS is often the highlight of students’ DP journeys. While the requirements of CAS are more difficult to fulfil during the current pandemic, there are still many ways students can grow through this process. Each month, we will highlight the CAS experience of a different GJS student. This month we showcase Reuben Alamea Danisworo from 11D.
Reuben chose to do cycling, as part of the Activity strand of CAS: “physical exertion contributing to a healthy lifestyle”. (CAS Guide). From this CAS experience Reuben wanted to improve his health and endurance, and set his goal to cycle up to a total of 1000 km by the end of the school year. He started on October 3rd, and has been cycling for up to 40 KM each week. Keep up your good work, Reuben!
