Greetings, all students, parents, faculty, and community of Global Jaya Primary School! We are hoping that all of you are healthy and safe. It is hard to believe that we are coming to the end of our first semester of this school year.
Although we are ending this semester in an unusual and unfortunate way, we believe that we have achieved so much this semester. We can confidently say that you are all champions! You stood firm amid this pandemic. Your extraordinary resilience, flexibility, and open-mindedness enabled you to conquer all the challenges, allow you to embrace new skills and make you a more creative problem solver. Please take time to reflect on what you have done for the past eight months and make a list of new skills and problems that you have resolved. You will be amazed at how much learning has happened and how much growth you have shown. Yes, we did not learn in a way that we expected, but we had an opportunity to learn many invaluable lessons that perhaps can only be discovered during this pandemic.
On another other note, we would like to remind you that Semester 1 will end on Friday, December 18th, at 11:20. On the 18th, all students will be able to access their Semester 1 Report from manageBac. Parents will be notified via email when this report is ready. Please do take time together to review the report. If parents want to have further discussion with the respective teachers, please make sure that you arrange an appointment to meet with them at the beginning of next semester. You can do this by contacting Ibu Imas, our Primary Admin assistant at imas@globaljaya.com. Please also be informed that Semester 2 will start on January 11.
As we enter the holiday season and with COVID cases still ongoing, we ask that you keep reinforcing the safety measures to help stop the spread of the virus and keep you and your family safe. Always wear a mask, wash your hand frequently and keep your physical distance by minimising gatherings. These are simple, responsible actions, but will save lives and determine our future. Let’s all do our part.
Finally, we would like to acknowledge our GJS teachers and staff for their tireless work over this past semester. Their dedication and commitment have allowed students to learn in a meaningful and productive way. We are also very thankful for the support of our families and are incredibly proud and grateful to have their continued support.
Last but not least, for those who celebrate, we wish you all a Merry Christmas. May this Christmas bring you joy, happiness and peace. For all GJS community, I wish you all a wonderful and prosperous new year. No matter how different your festivities may be, we hope you enjoy the time with your family.
Stay safe and healthy!
