Dear Global Jaya Community,
Habits and routines. Wash, rinse, and repeat. A successful first month of school establishing the routines and expectations in each classroom and throughout the campus helps to set a positive direction for the remainder of the school year. As a school, we have focused on socializing our students so that they have internalized our school wide practices, and now that we have completed our first month of classes, it is safe to say that our students are on autopilot when it comes to school expectations. For our parents, you are encouraged to reinforce this sense of independence and self-regulation at home to strengthen our students' sense of self, resilience, and perseverance both in and outside of school. More importantly, it is the sense of working with our parents that is a priority for Global Jaya, because when home and school are synchronized, our students grow and experience a deeper sense of success.
Speaking of routines, it’s important that our parents know who to contact in the case of a concern or challenge that arises at school involving your children. I encourage you to review this document so that you have the details needed to quickly resolve any school based issues. Knowing who to contact will ensure that you are able to connect with the person at Global Jaya who is most suited to support your concern.
Our Open Day event held on August 24th was a huge success. The event lasted from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, and we had nearly 140 prospective families visit our school during the four hour timeframe. The combination of support from our GA team, Leadership team, teachers, and of course our student ushers, ensured that we truly represented everything that we know makes Global Jaya a great school. And we look forward to welcoming new community members to our school in the near future.

Finally, we recently highlighted several of our students who were recipients of the Global Youth Action Fund. And while we know these students have worked hard towards supporting important social issues, we were thrilled to see their efforts also highlighted by the International Baccalaureate. As the IB indicates, "With the Global Youth Action Fund (GYAF), IB is proud to award micro-grants to support young people’s innovative ideas and projects addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals."
