Dear Primary School Families,
It’s hard to believe, but we are exactly six weeks away from the end of this academic year! As we look back, there is so much we have accomplished and celebrated together. Of course, we’ve also encountered challenges and learned valuable lessons along the way. But above all, this year has been marked by incredible student growth, courage, and progress that we are all proud of.
At the start of the year, students set personal goals—things they hoped to achieve or areas they wished to improve. These goals were made visible in each classroom, serving as daily reminders and motivation. As students made progress, the markers on their goal boards moved to reflect their growth. When I walk through the classrooms now, I am happy to see that many of those markers are no longer at the starting point. In fact, many are nearing or have already reached the meeting point. This visible progress is yet another celebration of student success.
May often feels like the home stretch—filled with assessments, end-of-year projects, exams, portfolio completions, and so much more. It can be an exciting yet demanding time for our students.
As we approach the finish line, we kindly encourage everyone to take a little time to care for themselves. Here are some simple but effective tips we’re sharing with students to help them stay balanced and positive through these final weeks:
Tips for Students to Stay Well and Thrive During the Final Weeks:
Stay Organized – Use a calendar or planner to keep track of important dates and deadlines. This helps reduce last-minute stress.
Take Breaks – Short breaks during study sessions can refresh the mind and boost productivity. A quick stretch, snack, or walk can make a big difference.
Sleep Well – Try to get enough rest each night. Sleep helps memory, mood, and focus—everything needed to finish strong!
Eat Healthy – Nutritious meals and snacks help keep energy levels up. Avoid too much sugar or junk food, which can make you feel sluggish.
Talk About It – If you’re feeling overwhelmed, talk to a teacher, friend, or parent. Sharing your feelings can help lighten the load.
Celebrate Progress – Every step forward is worth celebrating! Recognize your own achievements, big or small.
Practice Mindfulness – Deep breathing, quiet time, or mindful activities like coloring or journaling can help calm the mind and reduce anxiety.
