Bridging the Gap Between Students and Administration - Through my work in the Student Liaison Committee (SLC), I have made significant progress in facilitating communication between students and the administration. I will continue to be a strong advocate for us students and work to bridge this gap, responding promptly to student concerns throughout my term as president.
Improving jobs and employment issues - One common theme I heard from many of you was your frustration with the employment policies on campus, and the inconsistency in hiring practices making it harder for seniors to get jobs and for applications to be the same. I have started working on this with the SLC and the Office of the Dean through my position as Chief of Staff, and as president I will continue to strongly advocate for more standardization, fairness, and transparency in hiring practices.
Building a Stronger Community - One thing I observed lately is a compromised sense of community in
GU-Q and I aim to address this as president. I will advocate for more community-building initiatives and will lead by example taking part in these initiatives to bring back our sense of community. I aspire to build back a community that functions as one, united and not as different batches. I will also focus on our sports teams and finally work on bringing back our athletic side! I will also advocate collaborative events with other universities in Education City, to help restore the vibrant connections and friendships across the different campuses, and interact with our peers in Education City.
Transparency and Communication - I will ensure that the newly established SGA maintains transparency. I have already been proactively sharing batch updates about SLC’s efforts, and I wish to further bridge the gap between students and their representative body, the SGA. Having served as the SLC chair, I have demonstrated transparency with SLC and hope to do more with it in SGA.
