More transparency between students and faculty.
The chief of staff is the chair of the academic council. I plan to work closely with the registrar's office and the faculty during the course registration cycles for departments to host information sessions and open houses so students can have the opportunity to interact with the faculty and ask questions regarding their courses. I will also work on having a mid-semester course feedback form, rather than just one at the end of the semester.
Building a stronger GU-Q community in the dorms
As an active member of the residential life committee, I plan to host activities collaborating between SGA and the committee. These activities can also be a bridge for GU-Q students to meet students across EC. Such activities could include an EC-wide scavenger hunt, SGA trivia nights in the dorms, and much more.
Stronger relationship between alumni and current students
I plan to work closely with the newly established Department of External Relations to try and build worldwide connections for GU-Q students. Rather than just Doha-centric alumni networking sessions, I will work with alumni relations on connecting with GU-Q alumni across the globe for current students to network with alumni in various countries and industries.
Increasing creative opportunities for students
As someone who is passionate about arts and creative expression, I plan to facilitate more opportunities for students to showcase their creative expression. This could be through an SGA-hosted arts week, where there are many art workshops across campus for different forms of art, such as improv theater workshops, photography workshops, and painting workshops, and then the week would be followed by a GU-Q art exhibition where students can exhibit their work in all of its forms.
Increase sports support and hype
I plan to work closely with Student Life to increase the support and hype around the GU-Q sports team. This can be through marketing for the sports games, transportation to and from games, and community games between the teams and students.
