Message from The Chief of Staff

Dear Hoyas,

I am Sama Alissa (pronounced Al-Issa), and I am honored to be your Chief of Staff. A little about me, I am a proud Palestinian and I was raised in Jordan. I am a sophomore. I am an international student living in Addel this year. I plan on majoring in Culture and Politics with a minor in History. As the chief of staff, a lot of my work has to do with the internal organization of the SGA. Such as maintaining our budget for our various projects and events, record keeping, and so much more. However, the part of my role that I am most excited about is something that I am the first to do, which is chairing the Academic Council (AC). The Academic Council is starting its inaugural year and I can't wait to see where the collaboration between deans, faculty, staff, students, and the reps goes. As a newly established council, AC has a long way to go. There is a lot that can be done to make one's academic life at GU-Q better, as chair of AC, I will do everything I can to fulfill the council's goals by the end of the year. You might have a lot of questions about the Academic Council, and while I can't promise to have an answer to all of them, I will make sure to always come back to you with an answer. I am always up for a chat, anything SGA or Academic Council related, I am available, you can mostly find me in the atrium, student life, or the SGA office, pop in whenever you need.

I am so excited to work with all of you.

Hoya Saxa!
