Google Classroom is a great way to streamline your work online with your students. It can support primary students in searching the web by allowing you to collect good sites for them to research, allow them to build positive habits by streamlining class work, and help open the door to supervised online conversation.
If you are using Google Classroom, consider sharing the parent resource (look below) to support your parents in seeing what the inside of Google Classroom looks like. Feel free to copy and modify it for your own work and add your email at the end for parent questions.

Google Classroom accounts are set to email their users. In SD73 that works with both teachers and parents. Emails go to the teacher's firstinitiallastname@sd73.bc.ca or the student's firstname.lastname@student.sd73.bc.ca. It can be a LOT of emails unless we remember to turn off those email notifications.
