If you are the Google Administrator for your school or organization, here are a few tips and tricks to supporting your students and colleagues. If you have additional questions you can contact the IT Help Desk for SD73 at 250-377-4357 or you can email edevries@sd73.bc.ca for additional support.
Because student accounts are created within student registration in MyEdBC, we cannot create or change student accounts. This link will help you to reset student passwords or to find out what a student username is: https://password.sd73.bc.ca:8443/
If there is an issue with a student account name, that request for support needs to go directly from your administrator to IT (https://assets.sd73.bc.ca/glpi/).
If you are trying to determine an individual student account username or reset an individual student account password, you can access the Student User ID Password Change Site (see below). Teachers and Administrators all have access to the Student User ID Password Change - login with OASIS username and password.
There are two access points to find the Student Account Info. I would recommend that once you have accessed the site you bookmark it.
2a. Student UserID access on my.sd73
All teachers have this access https://password.sd73.bc.ca:8443/
If you are trying to find a Student UserID, go to My.SD73 > IT Services
https://my.sd73.bc.ca/en/tool-kit/it-services.aspx
*You will use your OASIS userID and password to log into my.sd73
Select the Student User ID Password Change linked at the bottom
*You will use your OASIS userID and password to log in
Use the student number to locate the student’s account
If the gedu account does not exist, submit an IT ticket with the student number and expected Student UserID.

All SD73 staff with an sd73 email address are able to have their own G Suite account within gedu.sd73.bc.ca The username should be firstinitiallastname to match their sd73 email address.
1. Go to admin.google.com
2. Select USERS
3. Select "add a new user"
4. Create a user
a) Fill in their First Name and Last name to match their sd73 email account (unless requested otherwise)
b) Assign their primary email as firstinitiallastname (@gedu.sd73.bc.ca) *please ensure this matches their sd73 account *
c) Manage user’s password, organizational unit
Select the organizational unit as your school -->STAFF Follow the trail from gedu.sd73.bc.ca to elem/sec to your school to staff *please note that staff can not share organizational units so job-sharing teachers can only be registered in one organizational unit*
5. Enter the secondary email as their sd73 email address
6. Toggle on automatically generate a password
7. Click ADD NEW USER
8. Click PREVIEW AND SEND to send an email to that new user with their password.
When you select a user you can EDIT that user and then change their name (first and/or last) as needed. You will need to also change their username@gedu.sd73.bc.ca
When you have done so their previous account will still work to connect to that person as an alias.
In your admin.google.com window, logged in with your gedu credentials, you have access to view all the staff and students within your organizational unit. You can use the search bar in your admin window to search and select staff members and then reset their password by editing their account. If the staff member is not in your organizational unit, you will not be able to support them.
You can have the staff member set their password from your window or they can have a default password set and you can set it up to email them a temporary password and then they can change it when they next log in. It is important to make sure that the reset link is emailed to the staff member and so you may need to check that their sd73 email address is added to their account.

In order to be able to support your staff, you will need to have their accounts located within your organizational unit. You need to contact IT with a ticket or by phone at 250-377-4357, or email edevries@sd73.bc.ca.
If this staff account is in your organizational unit you will be able to suspend or reactivate the account.
You can edit the account by logging into your admin.google.com window, selecting that user and SUSPENDing/REACTIVATing the account.
Sometimes suspension happens because the account is in the wrong organizational unit and so you would need to contact IT with a ticket or by phone at 250-377-4357, or email edevries@sd73.bc.ca
You can reactivate the account by logging into your admin.google.com window. Sometimes this happens because the account is in the wrong organizational unit and so you would need to contact IT with a ticket or by phone at 250-377-4357, or email edevries@sd73.bc.ca
