SEPTEMBER 8TH: Catch-up Day. Review all the assignments listed above. Make sure you visit Google Classroom everyday. The slide show we used to introduce whole notes, whole rests, half notes, half rests, quarter notes, and quarter rests is now available for your viewing. If you missed our Zoom lessons, please go through the slide show. There is a lot of information there for you. The slide show is also available right under the weekly calendar on this site.
SEPTEMBER 9TH: NEW LESSON for all of us! We will join a Zoom Session on "METER SIGNATURES, MEASURES, AND BAR LINES" . Attendance is mandatory. Please Scroll Down for the Zoom Meeting.

FOR ADVANCED BAND
Hafa Adai, Amazing Band Hawks! Some of you STILL missed the first lesson on SMARTMUSIC. That's okay. The "How To" Slide Show for SmartMusic is now in Google Classroom. As you can see, it is also posted above! I had so much fun with all of you during our last Zoom session, I can't believe how fast time flew! We didn't even have time to touch the Chromatic Scale, so tomorrow we will have a Zoom Session on the Chromatic Scale (first measure only), and for percussionists, we are going to learn about drum rolls. HERE ARE OUR LESSONS FOR THE WEEK:
SEPTEMBER 8TH: Zoom Session on the Chromatic Scale and Drum Rolls; and more, if we have time.
SEPTEMBER 9TH: You will find an assignment in Google Classroom. Please choose the worksheet for your instrument. These are the notes for the Concert Bb Major Scale. All you have to do is color in the correct notes for the note you see on the staff. You can use Kami (the free version) to color in your notes, or any other annotation tool you may have available on your device. You can even print it out, color in your notes, take a picture of it; and then, email it to me.
SEPTEMBER 10TH: If we don't have a chance to finish our Zoom session scheduled on September 8th; we'll use this date to finish our lesson. I will get back to you for the meeting code a bit later. First, I want to see how far we get tomorrow!
SEPTEMBER 11TH: Try to play or sing the two new assignments in SmartMusic and send me a recording. If you have your instrument, play it. If you don't have your instrument, sing it. Percussionists may have to sing this, as well...but I will try to find some percussion activities you can do on SmartMusic. Remember, a promise is a promise. As long as you try, you will get a 100% for this activity. Even if SmartMusic gives you a bad grade...I will ignore it. 100% for anyone who plays or sings the 2 new assignments in SmartMusic! PROMISE!
