HERE IS THE CALENDAR OF EVENTS FOR BOTH ADVANCED BAND AND BEGINNING BAND STUDENTS
FOR BEGINNING BAND:
Hafa Adai, Amazing Band Hawks! Some of you STILL missed the first lesson on reading notes and rests. That's okay. Some of you are STiLL trying to figure out how to access Google Classroom and to operate ZOOM. This is the last chance for LESSON #1. It is a Zoom Session to learn about whole notes and half notes. This is ONLY for people who have not participated in this lesson, yet; however, you are welcome to join if you want a review of this lesson.
HERE ARE OUR LESSONS FOR THE WEEK:
AUGUST 31st: Catch-up Day. Zoom sessions are available to learn about the whole note, whole rest, half note, and half rest. This is the last chance to attend this lesson. After today, I will post the lesson here in Google Classroom for all to access and review.
SEPTEMBER 1st: NEW LESSON for all of us! We will join a Zoom Session to learn about quarter notes and quarter rests. Attendance is mandatory.

FOR ADVANCED BAND:
Attached you will find your Honor Band / Jazz Band pretest. A pretest is a tool to see how much you already know about a subject. This pretest will NOT be graded. Try your best to answer it. Don’t Cheat! It is best to be honest. I will be teaching you these skills as we go along. Even if you don’t know anything; at least, type your name on the test and turn it in. You should be able to type directly on this test. Remember, honesty is the best policy! Do your best!

You have 2 days to complete this pretest; and then, on Wednesday, watch this video as a prelude to tomorrow's Zoom session. On Thursday, we are going to go more into detail as to how to use the SmartMusic app to learn new music. Here the video you are assigned to watch on Wednesday:
*A special note: I am getting the free version for students. For $40 you can get unlimited songs; however, let's just try the free version, first. With the free version, I will assign you certain songs for you to learn. This site will allow me to help you individually, as well as a whole band.
