Once our physiological needs are met, we naturally start to seek out situations that are safe and where we feel secure. We seek perceived safety as well as actual safety. We want to be safe and feel safe. Safety and sense of control go hand in hand. When things are out of our control we can feel unsafe in that situation. Overtime, feeling unsafe can lead to anxiety and stress which if experienced over long periods of time can lead to health issues.
