Justification of Changes Made
During the process of creating my final banknote designs, I made changes that I felt were necessary and would allow me to achieve the design specifications more effectively. For instance, I added the names and accomplishments of my chosen historical figures (Zarqa Nawaz and Mike Drewoth) to the fronts and backs of each bill in order to provide better context and awareness of their respective accomplishments/contributions to Canadian identity. In terms of CRAP principles, I made the addition of high contrast numbers (20, 100) against the lighter-coloured backgrounds as a means of providing extra clarity for the visually impaired. In terms of security features, I made the additions of using 3D textured images, surface animations (that reflect on UV light, and non-photocopiable patterns (which are not visible at this level). I did this because during the Bank of Canada visit, they underscored the importance of having effective security features. I hence decided to use more than I had planned to in my design specifications to achieve this.
