The Couple and Family Therapy Center is a well-established clinical training center that provides affordable therapy to the diverse Central New York community and through research, contributes to the understanding of family functioning and effective intervention.
The Couple and Family Therapy Center is a training and research facility that provides quality, affordable therapy services to individuals, couples, and families. Currently, the student therapists in the Center are students enrolled in either the Master of Arts or Doctoral Program and see clients under the supervision of the MFT clinical faculty. The Center also has a team of students and faculty specializing in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy and can assist transgender and gender diverse clients in the readiness process for medical gender transition.
The Center provides individual, couple, and family therapy to clients presenting with a variety of concerns including: relationship problems, family concerns, sexual concerns, issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity, family violence, substance abuse, depression and anxiety.
Transgender Affirmative Support Team Readiness Services:
Student therapists on the Trans Team work with transgender individuals, couples, and families, providing general therapy, helping families become more attuned to their transgender family member, navigating with clients through the process of gender transition, and providing letters of support for medical gender transition.
The Center serves the larger Central New York area, as well as any New York resident for whom teletherapy is appropriate and accessible.
