Week Five: Feb 23rd - 27th

Monday: Work day - get your missing work in! 

Tuesday: Band Contest - last day of class for missing work.

Wednesday: Unit 3 intro - letters and memos. Handout and practice with a letter of inquiry.  Evaluating our letters of inquiry. 

Thursday - Friday: Creating our own letter and memo for inter-office posting.

Week Four: Feb. 16th - 20th *Midterms posted 2/18 at 8 am

Monday: No School 

Tuesday: ADD #3, creating a flyer. 

Wednesday: Vocabulary for Unit. *E-LEARNING 

Thursday: Notes on Audience Recognition and notes on Accuracy. Acudience Recognition #1 and Accuracy #1.

Friday: Unit 2 Test

Week Three: Feb. 9th - 13th

Monday: Notes/presentation on #3 Accessible Document design. Do ADD #1 assignment (GC). Show examples.

Tuesday: Continue presentation on flyer design. ADD #2 - redesign. 

Wednesday: No Class - Career Week field trips. Thursday: No Class - Career week speakers. Friday: No School

Week Three: Feb. 2nd - 6th

Monday: Notes on CLARITY/lesson. Clarity assignment #1 Instructions activity - write step-by-step instructions for signing in to Gmail. Adjust them for a 5-year-old and then for an 80-year-old. Swap instructions and try them.

Tuesday: Quiz. Concise notes and assignment #1.  Clarity assignment #2 - Prepositions, Redundancy, and Long Words assignment. 

Wednesday: Active and Passive voice - explanation and assignment #3.  Clarity assignment #4. 

Thursday: Clarity assignments #5 and #6. Friday: Reflection and all worksheets due.

Week Two: Jan. 26th - 30th

Monday: Time to get back on track after e-learning and picture day made a mess of things last week. 

Tuesday: No Class - Dodgeball Tournament for Homecoming. Wednesday: Manual assignment. Complete the worksheet by analyzing one of the manuals we have in class. 

Thursday: Sharing our "home" examples with the class and what we learned yesterday. Discuss. Essay assignment (confusing) and then the rewrite of instructions. 

Friday: Working on essay instructions from Thursday. 

Week One: Jan. 19th - 23rd

Monday: No School - teacher in-service 

Tuesday: Class introduction, Google Classroom sign-up, policies, procedures, etc. Introductory assignment - What is Technical Writing? (handout) 

Wednesday: Notes/lecture on aspects of technical writing. Compare a poem to specs for a shoe, discuss. 

Thursday: Handout - Differences in Tech writing and essays - chart. Describe the object, using creative language. Then, write the technical specifications for it (stapler). 

Friday: Finding examples of Technical Writing from home.
