What classes can I take at KCHS?
Kenai Central High School offers numerous academic and elective options for students to explore while earning credits toward graduation. The teachers at KCHS are committed to teaching you the skills needed to meet the ever changing landscape of the workforce in the U.S.

In the Spring, KCHS counselors will meet with students to select courses for the upcoming school year. Below is the schedule request document staff use with 9th grade students. the KCHS school counselors review with students the graduation requirements and courses that are potentially available for the upcoming school year. If parents have questions or concerns we will also schedule meetings in the spring to work with them on an academic plan.
Electives at KCHS are varied. Students are required to earn 4.5 credits of electives to graduate in addition to the 2 credits of Creative and Practical Arts. Students who are thinking of attending college are also strongly encouraged to take 2 years of the same World Language.

The school counselors at KCHS work with students and parents to ensure the most appropriate class schedule for students according to their academic needs, interests, and future goals. Due to various factors students may not always be able to enroll in their #1 elective choice. Students are not guaranteed specific teachers or class hours/periods.
