What is a Community College?
An institution of higher learning that has programs traditionally below the level of a bachelor's (4-year) degree.
Awards certificates, diplomas, and associate (2-year) degrees.
Most community colleges offer lower tuition rates.
Many students will attend a community college for two years and then transfer credits to a university which saves money.
Most community colleges have transfer credit/degree pathways called articulation agreements that align with the local or state university systems, ensuring a seamless transition and acceptance if all requirements are met. Click here to search transfer agreements

Private Universities
Private colleges/universities differ from public schools in their difficulty of admission, rules and requirements. Private schools usually have higher tuition rates but they often look beyond grades and test scores when determining admissions.
Private schools also often offer many financial programs and scholarship opportunities to assist students with tuition costs.
Often at private colleges, class sizes are smaller offering opportunities for students to develop closer relationships with professors, and more class discussion opportunities.
