Wonderful families--
Today was such a joyful day at our school. Thank you to all who volunteered and participated in our holiday parties over the last two days. We enjoyed walking from room to room and seeing those beautiful smiles.
Also, a huge shoutout to our specials team for putting on another fantastic Holiday Sing Along. Many of us welled up hearing our kids sing together. It truly is a wonderful time of year!
Please enjoy this time with your kids and each other. We look forward to seeing our students again in 2026!
Take care,
Ms. Hawkins and Ms. Ellison

Gator 3rd-5th Families-
On Thursday, January 8th, 3-5 grade will have the opportunity to attend a program by the Children's Advocacy Center over kid safety. This program requires an opt-in permission to attend. Please fill out this google form with your choice of attendance for your child.
Information about the program can be found here. https://cacnorthtexas.org/kid-safety
If you have questions or would like to meet with me, please don’t hesitate to reach out. My email is jrunion@dentonisd.org or there is more information on the SES Counselor's website
Thank you for allowing me to partner with you to support your child’s academic and emotional success!
Denton ISD values parent/guardian partnership in learning. We support parents/guardians as the primary educators of their children. As a parent/guardian, you have the right to preview all education material. If you would like to request that your child NOT attend one of the above presentations, please contact Jenn Runion (School Counselor) at jrunion@dentonisd.org.
A NOTE ON BIRTHDAYS:
We are happy to celebrate your child's birthday at school. We allow parents to send birthday trinkets for their child's class if they want, however, WE DO NOT ALLOW BIRTHDAY TREATS or FOODS. Cupcakes/cake/candy etc. compete with healthy meals and snacks and may affect students with food allergies. We will not serve them.
Special Areas rotations will shift beginning January 6th for the 3rd Nine Weeks.
Be sure to know what day your Gators have P.E. and when they need their Library books! (Though Mrs. Holt recommends they have their books at school EVERY day!)
We are needing donations of every day items you have at home! Items can be sent in any time from now until MARCH!
Don't Forget to Sign Up:
Our goal is for 100% of Savannah families to complete the application—even if you think you won’t qualify. Why? Because the more families who apply, the better chance we have of qualifying for free meals for all students during the 2025–2026 school year! Don't forget you must reapply each year!
Apply here or using the button below.
It will prompt you to sign up for a SchoolCafe account first (or sign in if you already have an account from last year), then you click on the benefits link within.
