There are few things more nauseating than roller coasters, except maybe your Dad’s driving. The way his foot hovers over the brake, pressing the gas and letting go, is enough to swish your brains and bring the bile to your tongue, stirring memories of that time when you stumbled away from your last roller coaster ride feeling more than a little bit green and woozy. As you know, roller coasters weren’t always vomit-inducing. When you were younger, you looked forward to riding one of those lumpy beasts, a time when being an interstellar space traveler still seemed like what you wanted to be when you grew up. Now that you are grown up, you acknowledge your youthful naiveté, but not without a sense of nostalgia. With this project, we will safely capitalize on that nostalgia by designing our own risk-free roller coaster using calculus, poster boards, and a spot of glue.
