Remember all of those transformations you learned about in geometry? Translations, rotations, reflections, and dilations? Here we revisit those transformations and perform them using matrix multiplication, just like your favorite video game would.
Have you seen any of The Matrix movies? They are fascinating films, real mind-benders. Are we really just power sources for a seemingly malevolent artificial intelligence? Are our destinies being shaped by sentient programs? Is reality nothing more than a computer-generated simulation? These are interesting philosophical questions that, unfortunately, have absolutely nothing to do with this project. Instead of battling our unseen mechanical masters, or even debating the existence of said masters, we will be investigating geometric transformations on shapes in the coordinate plane using matrix multiplication. These transformations include translations, reflections, rotations, and dilations.
