The phrases “#1 volume” and other similar phrases cannot be used unless they are true, correct and substantiated by geographic area and date within the advertisement. Volume sales claims must be based upon retail sales for the previous calendar year and must be true, correct and capable of being substantiated.
Cannot include any form of distressed language such as:
(e.g., inventory reduction, massive reduction, construction reduction) or other phrase that creates the impression that Acura Vehicles are an “economy” or “discount” brand rather than a premium brand.)
Cannot use terms or phrases such as:
Unless otherwise prohibited by law, a Dealer may advertise that it will pay a consumer’s first installment payment on a financed Acura Vehicle & the value of such payment will not be deducted from the advertised price of the Vehicle in determining whether that Vehicle was advertised below MSRP.
When advertising a price on a vehicle, the Dealer must include the correct vehicle description, including year, model, trim level, transmission, equipment, body style and 2WD/4WD, if applicable (e.g., 2018 Acura TLX Base FWD or 2018 MDX w/ Tech Pkg).
Must not include superlatives such as “biggest,” “largest,” and other similar phrases.
Use of “headquarters” “superstore” “Meet or Beat” cannot be used unless part of the Dealer DBA.

Good Rule of Thumb for Acura/Honda MSRP should always end on 0 or 5. If MSRP ends on 6 or 7 (anything other than 0 or 5) it is non-complaint.
• MSRP is MSRP always
• NSX - It’s best to have verbiage say “Price” - do not say “MSRP” (because of custom ad ons)
• Cannot list current model year below MSRP
º For example 2018 TLX should only show MSRP cannot show rebates/savings because the 2019 TLX has not launched
º For example 2017 MDX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD cannot show rebates/savings because the 2018 version of the model has not launched although the 2018 MDX has launched
• MSRP must include the destination and handling fees
• MSRP cannot be inflated
• MSRP cannot be below
• MSRP is true MSRP. Can find the value here https://automobiles.honda.com/ & https://www.acura.com/
º Price cannot be below Invoice
ºº Exception: Best Price - Customer fills out form, unlocks ONLY ONE vehicle. Price can be below invoice at this time. Multiple vehicles being unlock is NON-COMPLIANT
• Giveaway promotions must list giveaway value
• Advertise price must match disclaimers
Cannot say the following:
Bonus Cash, Dealer Cash, Anything with “Cash”, Reduce, Reduction, Blowout, Dealer Incentives, Rebates, Closeout, Clear Out, Overstocked, Liquidation, Sell Off, Sell Down, Economy, Discount, Invoice
º Factory Incentives for example “Honda Incentives”
–Exception: Dealer name incentives: Plaza Honda Incentives
º City’s Best Price for example “New York’s Best Price” - Would need a disclaimer
• Cannot say “sign & drive” if something is due at inception
• New & Used vehicles needs to be separated
