The student body welcomed Guest Speaker Fletcher Cleaves to BFA. Mr. Cleaves spoke about the impact of distracted driving and living a positive life. Additionally, students participated in driving simulation activities.

Clear and Effective Communication
Students can demonstrate organized and purposeful communication.
Students can gather information from actively speaking, listening, and participating in class.
Students in the Public Speaking class gave demonstrations speeches. Here Tatum is teaching us how to arrange a flower bouquet.
Students in the Ancient Empires class debate which ancient civilization had the most lasting impact.
Students prepare to host the University of South Carolina Anne Frank exhibit.
In Creative Writing, students designed posters to publish their poems about VT to the school community.
Self Direction
Students have self-awareness, initiative, flexibility, and resilience in their learning.
Students have individual responsibility for their learning.
Students use technology to support and enhance their learning.
The Hexagonal Thinking activity allows students in the Graphic Novel class find connections between themes, characters, settings, and key words from their text.
Math 3 students practice predicting the end behavior of polynomials with an online math game.
Precalculus students hard at work using Trigonometric Identities to rewrite expressions.
Students in Forensic Science class analyze their finger prints for identifying marks. They used balloons to expand their prints to better view distinguishing marks and whorls.
Creative and Practical Problem Solving
Students observe and evaluate situations in order to solve problems.
Students persist in solving challenging problems and learn from failure.
The Forces and Motion class demonstrates Newton's 3rd Law, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Math students using trigonometry to find the missing sides of right triangles.
An "ah ha!" moment in a Foundations of Science lab as students see the energy produced by wind.
Students analyze historical events to prepare for a Socratic Seminar.
Informed and Integrative Thinking
Students apply knowledge from multiple sources to make sense of their learning.
Students apply prior knowledge to the current task.
Students in Foundations of Global Citizenship play "Lawcraft" and try to get their bill passed by Congress.
Students in the Holocaust Studies class share presentations on how people kept their humanity in the Lodz Ghetto.
Astronomy students used a lens to look at elements in a spectroscope.
Studio Arts students work on print making utilizing a variety of materials.
Responsible and Involved Citizenship
Students take responsibility for their actions and understand their impact on the community.
Students collaborate effectively and respectfully.
Students paint a new sign welcoming the community to the school farm.
Just once a month the entire chorus gets to rehearse together. Here they practice "I can't help falling in love with you".
Ramen soup the World Wise and Life Ready class made. It was sooo good!
Students in Sports Literature interviewed the author of the book they just finished, The Away Game. Mr. Abbot described his experiences researching and writing the nonfiction book about an international soccer scouting operation.
