Committee 1 D304 : Academic Integrity
As generative AI tools such as ChatGPT become more accessible, their role in English language education, particularly in writing and speaking—demands thoughtful regulation. This session presents a comprehensive framework developed through extensive classroom implementation and collaborative work among educators, assessment coordinators, and academic leadership. Drawing on real teaching experiences and student interactions, the framework was created in direct response to the challenges encountered by teachers and learners alike, including unclear boundaries around AI use, unreliable detection tools, and rising concerns over academic integrity.
