Easter in Quarantine

“Wake up and grab a bag and don't look outside!” said my mom. Today was Easter morning and my mom woke up yelling that all throughout the house. I couldn't comprehend what she was saying at first because I was half asleep then I finally understood. So, I woke up and put on my slides then got something to drink. Me and my siblings are all upstairs while my mom and stepmom are outside then call us down to begin.
They said “Ready..Set..Go” and my brother immediately pushed me so he got a head start for the Easter egg hunt. He runs fast collecting so many eggs then I start hurrying up picking up as many as I can. Once the majority of the eggs are collected my mom starts giving us hints to where the remaining eggs were. I looked everywhere and eventually my older brother found it. After we opened up all the eggs to find candy and money in certain ones. We traded candy with each other like we usually do on Halloween.
After the Easter Egg hunt was done we ate breakfast and started to get the materials we needed for gardening. We went through the shed and got gloves and shovels. Then me and my siblings carried bags of soil from the car to the backyard. I didn't help out much with gardening because I was cleaning my room but I helped with handing them things. Then after my mom planted tomatoes, lettuce, flowers and other things we started to set up an open standing tent. We put a white sheet on the tent then put my projector on a table.
Time went by and we started to make a fire in our fire pit outside. My mom brought out a tray with graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate bars. Then my sister brought out bowls of popcorn and cups. My step mom brought down soda and skewers for you to put the marshmallows on. I got my speaker to hook up to the projector so when we play the movie it's loud so we can all hear it over the crackling fire. We gather up firewood so we can keep the fire going while the movies are on. My step mom puts on the new Disney movie “Onward”. We set up the chairs by the fire so we can still see the movie on the sheet. We all roasted marshmallows and made smores while watching the movie.
I think I will always remember this day because we were in quarantine but we made the most of what we had. Easter in quarantine was better than Easter when we were not quarantined. I got to spend the whole day with my family without me and my siblings arguing which is a first. My mom promised that we would start a tradition of doing this every Easter now. Quarantine actually isn't that bad once you find something fun to do.
