When completing an application, you are applying to Florida Virtual Full-Time Schools.
In this public school district, students take a course load of SIX courses per semester and are REQUIRED to participate in state testing, some of which may be in-person at your local zoned school. Students follow a fixed school year schedule from August to May.
An application does NOT guarantee enrollment. Students should not be withdrawn from their current school, nor should their home school status be terminated until enrollment with FLVS Full-Time Public Schools is confirmed. Students must ensure they remain enrolled in their current school to complete the current semester and to receive final grades and credits.
Legal Resident of Florida
Student meets the age requirements as outlined by Florida Statutes and FLVS Full-Time School District Policies. Students age 19 or older are not eligible.
Students must have daily access to a computer with a webcam and microphone (Chromebook and tablets are not recommended), internet service, email, and telephone to maintain contact with teachers, staff and administration during the hours of 8:30 to 4:30 pm. (Elementary school students also need access to a printer)
Students applying for grades 6-12 are required to meet the recommended academic progress as outlined in our school handbook.
Students who need less than 6 credits to meet graduation requirements are not eligible for a diploma through FVHS. (Cognia accreditation requires "the institution ensure that students graduating from the institution complete at least 25% of the courses for graduation at the institution") This means students enrolling in Florida Virtual School full time must earn at least 6 credits through Florida Virtual School to be eligible and receive a State of Florida diploma. Note: This includes all Florida Virtual School coursework (individual courses (FLVS Flex), County Virtual School, and FlexPoint Virtual School.
