Demonstrating proficiency validates real-world competence to prospective employers and academic institutions.
The certification validates the recipient's technical ability and industry-standard proficiency. It is an official endorsement from Autodesk that the recipient has the know-how and skills to succeed in today's job market. The certification is awarded based on the individual's performance on the project-based exam, where exam candidates are required to work through the questions directly in the Autodesk application. All exams were created based on the research about design and Engineering skills required by industry, government, and education.

The certification exams are not based on a specific year release of the software, but instead on a series of fundamental tasks and questions to ensure successful use of the platform. The exam will work with the three latest software releases of AutoCAD.
