Recall that the purpose of a technical drawing is to communicate an idea or design clearly. An annotation is information added to the drawing to improve clarity. They typically add detail and include things such as labels, markers, dimensions, text, etc.

The multiline text and single line text command both create text that can be one or multiple lines long. The difference is that the multiline text command creates all text as one object, while the single line text command creates each line of text as a separate object.
Text height and other options can be individually changed in the properties palette or the overall style can be modified so the change is made for all future text objects (see below).
To edit a multiline text, double click the text and then use the Text Editor tab in the ribbon to change the justification, layer, style, etc. This command is most commonly used.
To edit a single line text, choose Justify or Style in the command line after the command has been activated.
To edit a text style or add a new one, click the Annotation drop down below the Text command button and select the first option. This will open the Text Style Dialog box where the font, height, angle, and more can be modified.
Open a new drawing and use the text tools to write a favorite quote. Use various styles, sizes, and colors.
