1) Find one or two classmates to complete the collaboration activity with.
2) As a team, design a layout for an elevator panel for a 12-story office building following the requirements below:
-The panel is made from brushed aluminum
- Its dimension are 7 inches wide by 14 inches tall and 1/8 inch thick
-There are 12 floor buttons
-Must be 1 close and 1 open door buttons
-Must have 1 unique stop button
-Must have 1 unique call button
-Must have a speaker grill area of 3.5 inches by 1.5 inches
-Should follow American Disabilities Act (ADA) considerations (e.g. Braille and button sizes)
3) Research and analyze the following for each building needing the elevator panel design. Each group member will research a different building: A doctor's office tower in Sarasota, Florida; a government services office building in Yuma, Arizona; or a payment processing company in Charlotte, North Carolina. Make sure to include sources in presentation.
-Building codes
-Climate conditions in the city
-Accessibility laws
-Application issues
4) Finalize one design for the panel that satisfies all constraints and criteria and draw to scale in AutoCAD (One per group)
5) Create a presentation that summarizes research findings and final design drawn in AutoCAD. This can be done in PowerPoint, Google Slides, etc. (One per group)
6) Submit presentation file to Segment 1 Collaboration Assignment. Each member in the group should submit the same file.
