Recall from Module 1 that construction lines are very thin solid lines that are used to help setup drawings. They are sraight lines that extend to infinity in both directions. They can be used as reference lines to ensure correct positioning and alignment. They can also be used to create intersections to become object snaps for accurate drawing. They should have their own layer in AutoCAD so that after the drawing is complete, they can be turned off and will not be visible in the end design.
To activate the construction line command, select the Draw drop down arrow and then select the Construction Line button OR by type "xline" and hit enter.
The offset command will quickly create parallel lines, concentric cirlces, or parallel curves.
