Activate the ellipse command by selecting the Ellipse button OR by typing in "ellipse" and hitting enter.
There are three different options in the submenu for ellipse:
Center - Draws an ellipse by defining the center first and then the two axes
Axis, End - Draws an ellipse with the first two points defining one axis and the third point defining the second axis
Elliptical Arc - Draws a portion of an ellipse; the first three points define the ellipse as in the Axis, End ellipse while the fourth and fifth points define the start and end of the arc
Fills an enclosed area with a pattern or gradient. This will be useful to help show texture or material.
1) Create a boundary for the closed area by creating a polyline or selecting all boundary edges
2) Activate the hatch command by selecting the Hatch button OR by typing in "hatch" and hitting enter. Activate the gradient command by selecting the Gradient button OR by typing in "gradient" and hitting enter.
3) Select a point inside the boundary area to insert the pattern/color
4) Use the options in the Ribbon to change the fill as necessary (see below)
5) Click "Close Hatch Creation" to complete
Start a new drawing and create the two ellipses to the right. Remember that the center of an ellipse is exactly in the middle of both axes.
