Principles of Business Management & Entrepreneurship
One of two foundation courses required for all pathways in the Business, Management, and Finance programs of study. The course enables students to acquire a realistic understanding of business processes and activities, the role of business in society, and the importance of entrepreneurship in our market economy. Students examine fundamental ethical principles; foundational economic concepts; the business environment; and primary business activities, including strategic management, human resources management, marketing, customer relations, accounting, finance, operations, and information management, throughout the course. In addition, students generate new product/service ideas, explore career opportunities in business and entrepreneurship, assess their entrepreneurship potential, acquaint themselves with techniques for finding and getting a job, and further their research and business technology skills.
