What to wear
For full uniform requirements, including details of all clothing, bags and equipment required, please see the School Uniform section on our website. Uniform requirements are also available from the Hub on the school app.
School uniform may be purchased new from Schoolblazer or from our ‘good as new’ second-hand uniform shop. This is run by our PTA, and opening times will be shared on the school app.
There is usually a wide selection of uniform available at very reasonable prices, including, from time to time, some new and unworn items.
Items stocked:
All items of school uniform
Sportswear
Sports equipment (e.g. tennis racquets, hockey sticks, shin pads)
Astroturf boots (not trainers)
Clothing for extra-curricular activities, for example ballet and judo (not horse riding)
All uniform and equipment must be clearly labelled with your child’s name. On clothing, please ensure that all name labels are on the inside.
Please note that if you purchase name tags from Schoolblazer, they will be sewn into garments free of charge, regardless of order value.
Once in the Sixth Form, students are permitted to wear business dress. Please see the School Uniform section on our website for more details.
Appearance
Only gold/silver studs or small pearl earrings may be worn.
Only one matching earring in each lower earlobe.
One wrist watch, and a discreet gold/silver cross or other religious symbol and chain, are allowed.
No nail polish or make-up (except in Years 10 and 11, when subtle and minimal make-up will be allowed).
Students are to be smart and their hair tidy, with no extreme styling.
Boys’ hair should be tidy and of reasonable shape, not artificially coloured, not streaked, and not falling below the collar. Hair styles or colour/dyes should not be extreme; hair should not be shaved (apart from where blended). The decision of the Head of School as to what is acceptable is final.
Girls’ hair that is long enough to be tied up must be tied up neatly and securely (and away from the face) at all times using appropriately coloured ties (navy/black). Hair colour should be natural looking; ‘dip-dyed’ hair is not permitted.
