Code of Conduct

• All members of the Farlington community are expected to act considerately and show respect towards each other.

• Every pupil must take responsibility for their own actions.

• Pupils are expected to make full use of the opportunities available to them. Work should be completed to the highest possible standards and handed in on time.

• Pupils are expected to respect the rights and property of others. If they borrow something, they should always ask the owner first and return it as soon as possible.

• All pupils should work towards improving the eco status of the school: REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE.

• If a pupil knows that he or she will be  absent from a lesson due to an extra-curricular activity, they should post a note in advance in the stream of the relevant subject destination on The Learning Platform so that their teacher is aware.

• Commitment to teams, clubs and co-curricular activities is important. Attendance at matches/meetings/concerts is expected: if absence is unavoidable, an apology slip should be given to the teacher in charge at least two days in advance.

• All pupils should look after school property, and not drop litter anywhere in the buildings or grounds.

• For their own safety, pupils must keep within the bounds at all times when on school grounds.

• Pupils are expected to suggest and support ways of helping others within and outside the Farlington community.

Anti-Bullying policy

We do not tolerate bullying of any form at Farlington, and we have strict and clear procedures in place to ensure that any member of staff and all pupils are able to raise and resolve any problems that they are concerned by.

Mobile Phones

Mobile phones should not be brought to school by Lower and Middle School pupils, up to, and including Year 6. 

Years 7 to 11: should these students bring a phone into school, must hand it in to their Form Tutor at Registration. The Form Tutor will in turn hand all collected phones to Reception for safe-keeping. Phones will then be collected from the Form Tutor by the student before going home. 

Occasionally there may be a good reason for a student to call home and that permission will not unreasonably be withheld.
