How we communicate with parents, carers and guardians
In 2024 we launched a school app for Farlington, from Reach More Parents by Weduc. This app acts as a central hub for parent communications and the sharing of school information. The app features an up-to-date school calendar and links to important information such as your child's timetable, our sports microsite, lunch menus, club timetables and much more.
All messages from the school office are sent via the app, and you will receive a push notification once you have received a message.
The App also provides a social media-style 'Newsfeed', only visible to registered parents, carers and guardians, which displays regular updates from your child’s teacher or form tutor regarding any school trips or special activities they have been involved in. The Newsfeed can be tailored to your child’s year group, or to a specific club/activity.
The 'Notices' section of the app acts as a virtual noticeboard, listing information about upcoming events, reminders, and any last-minute changes to activities, etc. Again, you will receive a push notification when a new notice has been added.
Before your child starts at Farlington, you will receive an email invitation from Reach More Parents by Weduc, with login details and instructions on how to register for the app. If you have any questions or need support in setting up your account, please don't hesitate to get in touch with Weduc Support by email to support@weduc.com. Alternatively, you may wish to visit www.reachmoreparents.com/parent-support for help and information.
Please feel free to contact the school office should you have any questions or concerns about our app.
Every Friday we share a weekly Bulletin with all parents, carers and guardians of students in Reception to Year 13. This document is shared via the school App and contains need-to-know information for the following week, as well as links to letters about upcoming events/trips/activities.
At the end of every half term, you will receive a newsletter with an introduction from the Headmaster followed by a summary of highlights of the term from across the school. These newsletters are sent as PDFs via the school App.
Please click to access the Farlington School Calendar, which is a SOCS calendar.
As a parent, you can choose to view our calendar as a list or a grid, and elect to view events for a day, a week or a month. The calendar will remember your preferences for that day, so that when you revisit, it will display your calendar preferences.
You can filter the calendar by category. Once you have filtered the calendar, you can sync it to your personal calendars on your phone, tablet or PC. Any changes to the SOCS calendar will then update your personal calendars.
You can access the public calendar on your mobile device and save it as an app on your home screen. You may also search the calendar using the 'Calendar Search' feature.
The school calendar is a live calendar which matches the calendar displayed on the school App, and so provides the most up-to-date information about Farlington life.
Match details can be found on SOCS, which parents and students can log into, and can also be saved as an app on iPhones. Students selected, times and maps of venues when travelling away can all be found when logging in. The link is: https://sport.farlingtonschool.com/. The password to view team sheets is: Sport@Farlington23.
The students have access to this via the school HUB page, and we encourage them to look at this regularly to ensure they are organised for the following week and more importantly have communicated with you in order that you know what time pick-up is and other relevant details.
For fixtures on the Astro, we have a spectator area with seating by the Sports Hall. Details of match teas are communicated on the day, but generally take place in the TMH.
We use the iSAMS Parent Portal to share end-of-term school reports with parents, carers and guardians. (Please note that these reports can only be viewed via the portal.)
To register for the portal, please click on the following link: https://farlingtonschool.parents.isams.cloud/. Next, select ‘Create an Account’ in the top right-hand corner of the screen. You will then be asked to enter the activation codes that will have been sent to you by our school admin team. After entering this information, you will be sent a verification email, which you will need to access before you can log into the portal. Please note that when selecting your password, this will need to be at least 12 characters long, and should include upper case and lower case letters, and a special character.
If you encounter any problems with the iSAMS Parent Portal, please email Seona Knight, Data and Academic Systems Administrator, at sk@farlingtonschool.com.
Farlington School is first and foremost a family school, and as such we have a busy and supportive PTA. The committee consists of a group of parents who volunteer to run social events for parents and children, and to organise fundraising events (every year, the PTA decides on specific projects to support for the children in the school; past projects have included the Wellbeing Centre and the Lower School playground). Members of the PTA also act as Class Reps.
All PTA news and details of PTA events are shared on Classlist. This is a free, safe, secure online community for the school, where you can post questions and message other parents in your child’s class or year group. Classlist also enables you to share your contact details with other parents in the same year group. You have full control over your privacy settings and can also join and use Classlist without sharing your contact details.
To register for Classlist, please email Mrs Carrie Campbell, School Administrator, at cac@farlingtonschool.com. You will then receive an email invitation to download the Classlist app. Once you have downloaded Classlist, you will be automatically added to your child's class within the app, and can start messaging other parents straightaway!
